(Ebook) Finding the Weight of Things: Larry Eigner's Ecrippoetics by George Hart ISBN 9780817321130, 0817321136

A critical study of the poetry of Larry Eigner through the lens of both disability studies and ecopoetics, forming the basis of an "ecrippoetics."
There are many definitions of ecopoetry and ecopoetics, but none quite fits Larry Eigner’s work.1 John Kinsella goes so far as to say that he has “grave doubts that an ‘ecopoetics’ can be anything but personal.”2 If this is so, then Eigner’s personal ecopoetics could be called his ecrippoetics, as I propose. The ungainliness of the term marks the intersection of the poet’s physical abilities, writing technology, and ecological crisis. As Eigner was a person with disabilities whose political interests focused on environmental issues, his use of a manual typewriter “crips” ecopoetics and “ecologizes” disability poetics
