Author managed to kill all the enthusiasm for the exciting benefits of XBRL. Great title, then this "book" fails to deliver on the basic Dummies format we've come to expect. Would not fault the author, but Wiley; not sure how this manual/textbook came to be published in Dummies format. Reads like a manual for my Dell computer; and suprising lack of Tips, Remembers, Timesaver icons etc...I guess the author has no Tips. Even so, thought I might keep for desk reference..because we Have to Have XBRL...but it's not even good for that. This outline of XBRL can be found at [...] and other places..online. Don't buy, even if you have to, wait for a natural communicator to tackle the subject.
