For those of us who have spent many years filling the pews of evangelical churches, we have seen banners, sung songs, and heard inspiring stories, all heralding the desire for the evangelization of the world.  In fact, Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8 have become just as memorized as John 3:16 for many in the Church.  Despite the perceived fervor for evangelism and missions, the “who” and “how” are often misunderstood or misapplied.  For some, the tasks of evangelism and missions are designated to a select few (missionaries, pastors, church leaders, etc.) as they thank God that He has chosen someone else to reach the lost.  For others, an unhealthy reliance on man-made programs and strategies take precedent over the clear teachings of Scripture.  What is often missing from both extremes is the foundation of a clear understanding of the gospel.  

There are many great books on the gospel, evangelism, and missions, and this is in no way a replacement of those books.  The purpose of To the Ends of the Earth is to reset our thinking on the “why” of evangelism beginning with the core meaning of the gospel.  Specifically, we will examine a single book of the Bible, Romans, to have a cohesive understanding of the gospel and its implications.  Specifically, we will see how Paul applied the implications of the gospel in his ministry and how these implications might direct our evangelism methods in our current contexts.

To the Ends of the Earth was written in common language and in a condensed format to be easily accessible to those serving in multiple contexts.  This short book will serve as a tool for pastors, leaders, and lay believers to reach their cities and the world for Christ, founded not on man, but on the Word of God.  May the glory of God, as revealed in His Word, be the supreme motivation to make His name known to the ends of the earth.
