Time, Cognition, and Entrepreneurial Orientation: Navigating the Affective, Cognitive, and Temporal Dynamics of Decision-Makers by Ludvig Levasseur instant download

The dichotomy between the material objects (more related to clock/objective time) and the states of consciousness (more related to psychological/subjective time) has been highlighted in philosophy by philosophers (e.g., see Bergson 2008). Moreover, prior and recent management research (e.g., Aguinis and Bakker 2020; Ancona et al. 2001; Mosakowski and Earley 2000) has highlighted the problem of dominance of clock/objective time. I would like to challenge this taken-for-granted and problematic assumption and focus instead on the TP of decision-makers and, by shifting the focus to the individual level of analysis, examine their subjective (i.e., affective, thinking-related, and psychological) and temporal (past, present, and future) dynamics including their goals.6 Because the positive and negative experience and perception of an event is individual-specific, focusing on these subjective dynamics would also help scholars to investigate more deliberate time lags and develop firm life cycles that have more coherent but also potentially less linear stages (Kunisch et al. 2017).
