This book is a list of about twenty questions or issues such that a model or theory that answers all of them and is a good candidate for a theory which describes and explains our world.We’re not quite at the stage where we can definitively answer all the questions, but in one sense we’re close. We can probably answer all but two and we have good candidate answers for the last two. It will of course be crucial to have data on at least one superpartner, and on dark matter, as will be discussed in the book.We can relate the answers to a deeper underlying theory, M-theory in ten space dimensions, compactified to our four-dimensional space–time plus seven space dimensions curled x up in a manifold with a size about the Planck scale, and originating from an E8 singularity. All these words will be defined and explained as we go along.
