Protein folding is a process by which a protein structure assumes its functional shape of conformation. It has been the subject of research since the publication of the first software tool for protein structure prediction. The goal of this book is to propose and evaluate a theoretical model that enables simulation of the protein folding process. The model attempts to incorporate, as far as possible, the results of experimental studies and exploit knowledge about the mechanisms that affect naturally occurring proteins.
