(Ebook) Operative Techniques in Gynecologic Surgery: Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility by Steven T. Nakajima (Editor), Jonathan S. Berek (Senior Editor) ISBN 9781496367358, 1496367359, B06XW3GLY9

It is our honor to serve as the editors for this book of operative and officeprocedures currently practiced in reproductive medicine. This summary reflectsthe changing focus of the subspecialty of reproductive endocrinology andinfertility (REI). Many past surgical operations have been replaced by the officeprocedure of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo transfer (ET). Surgicalprocedures that used to be routine have been supplanted by minimally invasiveapproaches, some of which rely on robotic assistance. The changing nature ofreproductive medicine and the many new developments in our subspecialtymake this book an invaluable resource for REI subspecialists. Most contributors to this book have a connection with Stanford Medicine orthe University of Louisville. Seven of the authors were clinical fellows in REI atthe University of Louisville when Steven Nakajima was the Program Director ofthe REI fellowship (Travis McCoy, Miriam Krause, Maher Abdallah, MazinAbdullah, John Preston Parry, and Peter Uzelac). Two contributors are currentfellows at Stanford (Jonathan Kort in REI and Steven Co in Radiology). ArielRevel was a Feldman Family Foundation Visiting Professor at Stanford in 2016.Camran Nezhat and Azadeh Nezhat are on the medical staff of StanfordHospital. The authors were chosen for their expertise and willingness to share personalsurgical knowledge with the medical community. All have distinguishedthemselves as accomplished surgeons and caring physicians. During thedevelopment of this book, our contributors dedicated many hours to completethis project. We extend our appreciation to their family members who grantedthem the time to contribute
