Octopus Biology and Ecology: Bio-ecology, Fisheries and Aquaculture by Rui Rosa; Ian G. Gleadall; Graham J. Pierce; Roger Villanueva ISBN 9780128206393, 012820639X instant download

The book we present here is a collection of scientific
reviews on the most recent research conducted on key
octopus species, including their distribution, life history,
trophic ecology (prey–predator interactions), and beha-
vioural ecology, including mating and reproduction.Presenting a broad selection of octopus species with
their own particular features, the book includes four cold-
water, fairly deep dwellers (the rest inhabiting warm,
coastal waters); six medium-sized species, including
Octopus vulgaris and its closer relatives; five species
sporting a pair of ocelli (false eyespots); four small species;
three species common around coral reefs with a broad dis-
tribution (two in the Indo-Pacific, one in the Atlantic); two
with an endemic, localized, limited distribution; two giant
species; one lethal blue-ringed species; and one with the habit of digging tunnels to live in under the seabed. Seven
have a distribution associated with the Americas; seven with
Asia; four with Australia; four with Europe; and three with
India and Eastern Africa.
