The application of Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) in the biomedical field is leading to a new generation of medical devices. This guidebook is meant to provide the fundamental concepts and applications in developing diverse biomedical devices. The first section introduces the basics of MEMS technology with a focus on polymers, since polymers are extensively used in biomedical microdevices.
