[..] In order to reach a date for the Atlantis cataclysm, Anton has adopted a time scale derived from the texts of Herodotus and of Plato himself. He has also written at some length on the Eumelos controversy and the attempts to denigrate the reputation of Grongnet de Vasse.
Anton and I share a common belief that Atlantis was based in the Central Mediterranean. While I favour a more extensive Atlantean domain, Anton's focus is more restricted. He has offered convincing evidence that the Maltese landmass was much more extensive and was so within relatively recent times, a fact highlighted by his discussion of the Maltese island of Filfla.
Island of God is a worthy successor to Echoes, expanding on some of the earlier material but also adding important fresh information, which when they are taken together, greatly strengthen his claim of a Maltese Atlantis. This is a must-read volume for any serious student of Plato's Atlantis. I shall be reading it again soon with a view to mining It for further material to Include in my Atlantipedia.le website. Leaving aside Anton's obvious erudition, his qreatest characteristic is one he shares with Plato - inteqrity. [..]
