(Ebook) iPhone and iPad in Action by Brandon Trebitowski, Christopher Allen, Shannon Appelcline ISBN 9781935182580, 1935182587

I do applaud the authors as I realize that completing a book is no small task and also acknowledge the difficulty in trying to complete a technical resource before it is outdated is a race against time. Unfortunately, this book has been outdated before it was released. iPhone 4 has been out for a few months but this book is written as it is some future technology to be released sometime in the unknown future. I am not sure why the title even mentions iPad. The only iPad content it has in the book is a simple "Hello World" app. It does not even mention any of the new iPad paradigms. WHile the book was in MEAP there was a placeholder for 2 chapters on the iPad which seems to have been replace by a simple mention in one of the other chapters. A sure case against MEAP. Why pay for a book that advertises chapters that are never published. A bit of false advertising I would say. Did we really need another iPhone 3 book in light of the releases in the past few months? I would save my money for a real iPad or iOS 4 book.
