SummaryThe goal of compiling of the CROATIAN BIBLIOGRAPHY OF WORKS ON BASKETBALL PUBLISHED UNTIL 2020. is to publish and give for use of a list of a selected, systematized and organized bibliographic resources significant for Croatian basketball; its history, development, expert-scientific activity and social impact. The main tasks of the undertaken activities were to collect, evaluate, describe and sort out relevant basketball works within the given selection limits. The sources for the compilation of the BIBLIOGRAPHY are mostly secondary (catalogues, bibliographies, databases…) which implies reliance on a resources already described but scattered. Taking into account the time, formal and content criteria of the scope of coverage, newspaper articles were left out of the selection, as well as ephemeral library material and partly popular periodicals and Internet resources. The selection of the bibliographic resources is minimal due to the desire for a full coverage of publications.The bibliographic list delivers works of around 1000 authors in eight chapters and two appendices, with a total of 1740 registered publications, in this order: 1. Scientific and Expert Articles in Journals With Reviews (199 bibliographic records); 2. Scientific and Expert Papers in Conference Proceedings (203 bibliographic records); 3. Abstracts in Proceedings (57 bibliographic records); 4. Expert Articles in Journals and Papers in Proceedings Without Reviews (401 bibliographic records); 5. Author Books, Book Chapters, Manuals and Textbooks (134 bibliographic records); 6. Master's and Doctoral Thesis (43 bibliographic records); 7. Graduate and Undergraduate Thesis (523 bibliographic records); 8. Brochures, Miscellaneous Expert Printed Material and Electronic Publications (180 bibliographic records). The appendices (Chapters 9 and 10) contains subsequently listed and recent papers.The bibliographic records are formed by basic elements of a bibliographic description with short annotation. They are chronologically lined up, and within years alphabetically – according to an authoring entry. Assistance in accessing and searching lists shall be provided by the author indeks, subject indeks and index of the journals. Publications that exist online are provided with a link (281 bibliographic records).The BIBLIOGRAPHY is a reference work that contributes to an organization and (Internet) visibility of a published bibliografic resources from the field of Croatian basketball. The purpose of its compilation is to provide everyone interested an effective access to bibliographic sources and, partially a full text.
