Chemical Environmental Pollutants and their Effect on Health by Aikaterini Salavoura instant download

There is a growing interest of the public on the impacts of the environment on
health. However, scientists have not a ready solution. Although fatal bacterial infec-
tions have been eradicated with the use of new generation antibiotics, other diseases
increase rapidly and the demand for new treatments, such as monoclonal antibodies,
is mandatory. Since the decoding of the genes of the human genome, questions
regarding multifactorial diseases have not been answered. However, there is not yet
a convincing theory to explain the etiopathogenesis of these diseases, not even the
effectiveness and safety of new drugs. The increase in the prevalence of diseases,
such as allergy, autoimmune diseases, neurodevelopmental and neurogenerative
diseases such as Alzheimer disease, Diabetes mellitus type I, and cancer, grows and
possesses a serious burden to the health system. Since our genes have not changed
in the last 50 years, other factors are implicated to the emergence of these
“epidemics.”
