(Ebook) Business Etiquette For Dummies by Sue Fox ISBN 9780470147092, 0470147091

What I particularly liked? * The depth of the content. If someone doesn't have the time to read many etiquette books but still wants to learn the subject really thoroughly I would highly recommend this book. There are many books out there which cover many etiquette topics but often quite superficially. In this book you get very detailed information on various etiquette matters. I would even call it "The Etiquette Bible". I would say this is a must-read for anyone who considers teaching business etiquette. * The anecdotes because they proof that the topic discussed is related to the real life. I adore reading them. * The caricatures which remind the reader that etiquette shouldn't always be taken dead-serious. And it made me also think: Why is there actually not a comic book out there that teaches etiquette in a funny way (such as Dilbert books by Scott Adams)? * Something you can find in any "For Dummies" book are the icons. It helps the reader to find certain things very quickly, such as: anecdotes, tips, faux pas to avoid, things to remember etc. * "What you are not to read" which appears in shaded gray boxes is a section which the author doesn't consider as essential for grasping a given etiquette topic but which I considered as often very interesting and informative. * The fact that topics such as: - Diversity Etiquette (physical, racial and ethnic, gender and sexual differences), - Taking part in a variety of social off-site activities, - Coming to terms with difficult people and - Managing ethical dilemmas at work were also covered. In many business etiquette books they are not considered at all. How I would rate it? I would give it a 9 out of 10. I would have given it a 10 if: - it would have included more anecdotes, as this was the case in the first edition of the book. I loved them. "Just one more thing. If my house would be on fire tomorrow, and I could rescue one of my books, this would be the one I would save in the last minute ." Karin Schroeck-Singh, [...]
